Dr Martin Hossenfelder is a Counsel at our Berlin office and specialises in data protection law, with a particular focus on digitalisation issues. He also provides comprehensive advice on all aspects of IT and copyright law. Martin has particular experience in auditing and implementing data protection processes and systems within companies, rolling out digital payment systems, advising on proceedings with data protection supervisory authorities, supporting clients with data protection issues in corporate transactions, and drafting and negotiating complex IT and cloud contracts. His clients primarily include banks, fintechs and other organisations subject to financial regulation, as well as companies in the construction and real estate sectors.

- Advice on all aspects of data protection law, including the implementation of data protection management systems within companies, due diligence in the context of corporate transactions, documentation and disclosure requirements under data privacy laws, in particular regarding data transfers outside of the EU and in the context of regulatory proceedings and/or complaints and enquiries from data subjects
- Drafting and negotiating complex IT and software contracts (in particular cloud contracts, IT outsourcing contracts, software contracts)
- Advising e-commerce, m-commerce and start-up companies on IP/IT and data privacy law
- Copyright law, in particular advice on drafting legal clauses in contracts (e.g. in supplementary agreements in relation to corporate transactions)
