Josef Schmid will take up the post of Bavarian State Minister of Justice on 1 October 2026. GSK Stockmann would like to congratulate its long-standing partner on this appointment and wishes him every success in his new position.
Josef Schmid has been an Equity Partner at GSK Stockmann since 2018 and practises at the firm’s Munich office. He specialises in advising on public construction and planning law, as well as providing legal support for development projects.
Prior to joining GSK°Stockmann, he served as full-time deputy mayor of the Bavarian capital, Munich, and as head of the city’s labour and economic affairs department. He has also served as an honorary city councillor and as chair of the CSU faction on the Munich City Council. He has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament since 2018.
