GSK Stockmann advises Sofidy on acquisition of a hotel portfolio

GSK Stockmann advised Paris-based French asset manager Sofidy on the acquisition of a portfolio of more than 900 hotel rooms across six cities.

Sofidy is a globally operating asset manager. Sofidy took over the so-called “ABBA” hotel portfolio for the funds Sofidy Europe Invest, Immorente, Efimmo 1 and Sofidy Convictions Immobilières.

The portfolio comprises various properties in downtown locations of Aachen, Bonn, Bremen, Düsseldorf, Duisburg and Frankfurt. In the future, the six hotels will be operated by the hotel chain B&B Hotels. This change in operator came as part of the transaction and new lease agreements with a term of 25 years and renovation agreements were concluded.

GSK Stockmann comprehensively advised on the transaction with a team led by Munich real estate partner Stefan J. Schlapka. In particular, GSK Stockmann advised Sofidy on legal and tax matters regarding the due diligence and the negotiation and conclusion of the purchase and lease agreements for all six hotels.
