Our partner Dr Jörg Kahler will speak at the Autonomous Mobility Xchange 2026 on the topic: “Maneuvering vehicle technology through the New Digital Legal Landscape in the EU – Who is liable when the algorithm fails?”

With the new EU AI Act and the revised EU Product Liability Directive, the liability regime for AI-driven and software-defined vehicles is fundamentally changing: software, updates, and digital services are now explicitly part of product liability and even more safety-critical. All stakeholders involved in the manufacturing and supply chain – including economic operators and fulfillment service providers – need to rethink their processes and contracts – and clearly allocate responsibility.

Dr Kahler will demonstrate how the new EU rules apply specifically to the automotive tech sector, which documentation and monitoring obligations are now crucial, and how you can manage liability risks across the value chain. Practical and actionable recommendations included.
