GSK Stockmann provided legal advice to Singapore-based IREIT Global and Frankfurt-based Kintyre Investments GmbH on concluding a long-term lease agreement with Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), Berlin’s main public transport operator. The 25-year lease covers around 40,000 sqm of rental space at the RE(O Campus, which is located in the immediate vicinity of Berlin’s Ostkreuz station. BVG plans to establish its new headquarters on the campus.
In terms of the area leased, this is the largest office lease to be concluded in Germany so far in 2026, as well as the largest in Berlin since 2020. The newly concluded lease increases the occupancy rate of the RE(O Campus from around 25% to approximately 75%.
GSK Stockmann partner Dr Nadine Wachendorf (Real Estate Investments & Asset Management) led the team that advised the building’s owner and drafted the lease agreement. This assignment was the latest in a long-standing client relationship providing legal support for the development of the RE(O Campus.
IREIT Global is a real estate investment trust specialising in European properties. Kintyre is supporting the project in its capacity as operational project development manager and IREIT Global’s representative. The RE(O Campus at Berlin’s Ostkreuz station is currently being redeveloped into a modern, mixed-use campus. In addition to BVG, Premier Inn and STAYERY have already signed long-term leases for the site. GSK Stockmann has been advising IREIT Global and Kintyre on the development and repositioning of the RE(O Campus since 2023.
Dr Nadine Wachendorf comments: “As a team, we were able to draw on not only our extensive and long-standing expertise in the real estate sector, but also our in-depth knowledge of the specific property. We are delighted to have supported IREIT Global and Kintyre in the successful conclusion of this lease.”
